Doors have finally closed on Thornbank Care Home in Ipswich as part of a move to an exciting brand new replacement. The property had been used as a care home since 1945 when it was owned by the Women’s Voluntary Services. Latterly the property had been acquired and operated by leading not for profits care provider Greensleeves and as such was their oldest established service.
Over the years the building was extended, and adjacent property acquired to create 33 rooms of accommodation. Halo Care was appointed to offer strategic advice and act in the sale of the property which will now be redeveloped to provide residential accommodation.
The residents of Thornbank are now enjoying life at its nearby replacement – Henley House a stunning and spacious 66 bed purpose built home.
